Why Kristaps Porzingis Can Become a Legend!

Kristaps Porzingis has the potential to become a legend, and before you say that I’m over exaggerating, read this article from top to bottom.

Porzingis was booed by all the New York Knicks fans at Madison Square Garden when he was selected by the Knicks with the 4th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. During his post-draft interview with Jared Greenberg, Porzingis said, “I can’t wait to prove to the Knicks fans that I am worth it being a Knick.” With this high-confidence level, Porzingis took the NBA by storm by averaging 14.3 points, 1.9 blocks, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in just his rookie season. He upped these averages to 18.1 points, 2.0 blocks, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in the next season.

In his first game as an NBA player, Porzingis proved all his haters wrong by dropping 16 points on the Milwaukee Bucks. When people began to take notice of Porzingis, they realized his game was strikingly similar to Dirk Nowitzki, a 12-time all star, 2007 league MVP, 2011 Champion, and 2011 Finals MVP. Many people thought that these comparisons were not realistic, but Nowitzki himself disagreed. Nowitzki was quoted as saying, “He’s probably way ahead of the curve. When I was 20, I was scared to death out there. He’s almost averaging a double-double, so he’s way better than I was at 20. So the comparison is probably unfair to me.” That last sentence is very telling as it proves that Porzingis has almost unlimited potential as a superstar in the future.

Porzingis is like a Create-a-Player from NBA 2K17. He was born to play basketball. Kristaps is a 7′ 3″ knockdown shooter who has the speed of a point guard, lacks absolutely no athleticism, and is an amazing rim-protector. Porzingis lacks absolutely nothing but experience. At this point in his career all he needs to do is lead, by himself, the New York Knicks to the playoffs in this upcoming season. Don’t be surprised to see him on the All-Star team in 2018.
