Derrick Rose Signs with the Cleveland Cavaliers

7/24/17

Derrick Rose has signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers (per Shams Charania) on a 1-year/$2.1M deal. For Cleveland, signing Rose gives them a reliable point guard if they are forced to trade Kyrie Irving. Also, Rose is a quality player who has averaged 19.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists throughout his career. These numbers are extremely helpful to Cleveland to bolster their bench even more. Rose has finally accepted the 6th man role he will have to play for the rest of his career if he wants to win a championship. He is a great player, but he is not a starting player on a championship caliber roster, especially in this Golden State Warriors era.
